California here we come…

5 Nov

I am heading out on another business trip to beautiful California.  This will be the first time ever my husband, John, has joined me on a work-related trip.  I am looking forward to a great conference, sight seeing, getting some awesome seafood, doing some west-coast shopping, and relaxing with John.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Enjoy the journey,
Jessie

Returning to this blog

9 Oct

Over the past couple of years, things have been busy.  I have been experimenting with different websites and different blogs, and relized that WordPress is far superior.  So, I’m back. At least for now.  I have to admit, I am probably the world’s worst blogger. But for what it’s worth, I am going to attempt this blogging thing again.

For those who have stuck with me throughout this period of re-evalution, re-adjusting, and re-focuing, I thank you!  Your loyalty amazes me. I am excited to pick things back up again, get back to doing what I love to be doing.  I am excited to get more scrapbooking completed and focus on what matters most to me.  I am all about living a rewarding life, and celebrating those memories on my scrapbook pages.  I am back with more projects, better ideas, and more creativity to share with all of you. I am excited to start sharing again, and hope that you enjoy!

Home Sweet Home

10 Nov

It’s official, last week we signed the paper and are selling our house. I am excited about moving. However, it’s difficult to think about not living here any more. There are a million things I love about our house, and mostly that it is our home. It is the place we brought both Paige and Reid home from the hospital to. It is the place that holds a million memories. It has the fantastic neighbors and friends we have come to love. It is not just property we are selling, it is also my home. Sniff, sniff.

Random ramblings

28 Oct

Kids are out-of-school for Fall Break.  I am taking off 1/2 of Wed, Thurs, and Fri to do some fun stuff with them; go to the pumpkin patch, carve pumpkins, bake Halloween cookies, etc.  Also, some not so fun stuff; rake the yard, clean the house, do laundry, yuck!

We are within days of being ready to put our house on the market.  After living here for 7 years, we are going to sell our house.  It comes with mixed emotions.  This is my first house I owned.  This is the house that we brought both Paige and Reid home from the hospital to.  It is in a neighborhood full of friends who we will miss.   All of which makes me a little sad to leave.  However, I am excited to move on to the next chapter of home-ownership.

And speaking of next chapters, starting January 1, my husband, John, is taking over ownership of the business he has been working at for the last 11 years.  He is going to be the president and owner of Datastor Solutions.  This is both exciting and nerve-racking at the same time.  We are thrilled about the opportunities ahead.

Madeline has been accepted into her Study-Abroad program at school.  She is going back to Germany over spring break next March (for the second year in a row).  She is thrilled to be going back to a country she truly loves and admires.

Paige is working hard at her dance and cheer season.  She is at the studio three nights a week.  She is mastering new skills every day!  It is so exciting to watch her grow and develop.

Reid is going to be three next month.  Hard to believe my baby is going to be a three-year-old.  If anyone has any advice about potty training a boy, let me know.  Right now, he wants nothing to do with it!  Don’t judge!  Boys are difficult.

I am getting excited about the busy fall just ahead.  The holidays are always so exciting.  This winter, I will be doing some light traveling for work, including a trip to Dallas/Fort Worth in January, Louisville, KY in March, and Chicago in April.  We are also taking the little kids to Disney World over spring break in March (while Madeline heads to Germany).

Speed of Life…

23 Oct

Has it really been that long since I have blogged?

Unbelievable!

I guess time is just going at the speed of life. We’ve been dealing with sick kids, work-related travel, the day-to-day rat race, meeting with real estate agents to put our house on the market… every day is an adventure.

But, the sun is shinning through my window (it’s been raining the last several days) and I am looking forward to the weekend.

I will be posting artwork soon, so check back.

In the meantime, shoot me an email, message, or comment and let me know how your life is going!

Biting off more than I can chew…

16 Sep

Do you ever get the feeling that you are biting off more than you can chew?  This last week has been insane!  Here is a snapshot of just a few things going on in my life…

  • homecoming shoe shopping
  • remodeling the kitchen (currently  have all of the wallpaper off, my china hutches are sitting in the middle of the dining room, everything is a mess, and now we’re deciding on paint)
  • getting ready for the weekend scrapbooking retreat I host
  • 3 nights a week of dance and cheer classes
  • hot water heater broke and needed to be replace (spent entire day Saturday mopping up water in my basement)
  • fixed broken sump pump
  • helping kids with homework
  • dyed my 16-year-old’s hair red
  • washing machine started to leak

I don’t know how I even have time to work full time… (more…)

Under Construction

21 Aug

Please keep in mind, that although this website is “live,” it is a work in progress.  I will be updating and changing regularly, so check back!

Welcome to my new Web Site

20 Aug

I am so glad you found me. I have decided to get a brand new website. I am a full-time working mother of three, wife to the best man in the world, Close To My Heart Consultant, cheer mom, and host of the bi-annual Create! Escape! Scrapbooking Retreats. Did I say that I also work full-time!?!?

So, I needed a website that is as versatile as my life. On one site you will find current events with my family and friends, news and updates pertaining to my CTMH scrapbooking clubs and workshops, everything you need to know about my weekend scrapbooking retreats, and even an inside look at my personal art gallery! Plus links to other great sites for shopping, viewing artwork, and getting inspired.

I hope you enjoy and stop by often!
